Barry J. Dyke- Author: "Pirates of Manhattan"
Mr. Dyke entered the financial service and life insurance business in 1982. He has worked and consulted with individuals, professionals, small businesses and public corporations in constructing employee benefit plans, investments and financial planning. In addition, he has also founded a pension consulting business, a third-party administration firm and a registered investment advisory firm. Since 1996, he has passionately studied economics, which is the foundation for his first book, The Pirates of Manhattan.
Rick Darvis, CPA, CCPS
Rick is recognized as one of the leading experts in the college funding field. He has written more books, developed more software, and trained more financial professionals on the topic of college funding than any other person in the United States. His knowledge has enabled him to be invited to speak on the topic of college funding to his contemporaries at state CPA and FPA conferences in over 25 states.
Ron Them, RFC, CCPS
Ron is co-founder of the National Institute of Certified College Planners , and now specializes in college cash flow planning for business owners and executives. Carl Buck - VP, Chase Education Finance
Carl Buck, a financial aid expert, has over 30 years experience guiding students, parents, and educators on matters related to financial aid. Mr. Buck currently serves as the VP of Sales Support and Strategies for Chase Education Finance.
Prior to serving at Chase, Mr. Buck was the VP of Financial Aid Services for Peterson's. Peterson's offers college guides, advice, and education information for students and those who support their educational goals. He has held numerous financial aid positions in both the public and private sector. As the Senior Vice President for the New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation, Mr. Buck was instrumental in setting financial aid policy and educating college bound families on the importance of pursuing financial aid assistance.
As the Director of Student Financial Services at leading U.S. institutions, including Rice University, Rutgers University, and the University of Utah, Mr. Buck has worked with thousands of families to explore financial aid options and acquire the money needed to help pay for college.
Mr. Buck has appeared on numerous talk shows and has been extensively quoted on financial aid matters in leading media such as, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s, and Bloomberg Radio. As the affordability of higher education continues to grow in importance, Mr. Buck is often called upon to answer questions related to scholarships, grants, loan alternatives, and more.

Don Betterton
With respect to college planning and financial aid, there are few people with more experience and knowledge than Don Betterton. Don served as the director of financial aid at Princeton University for 30 years where he was the architect of Princeton’s innovative no-loan program and gained recognition a national leader in his profession. During Don’s time at Princeton, undergraduate financial aid/scholarship awards increased from an aggregate $3.4 million in 1973-74 to $65 million in 2005-06.
Don’s career in college planning and financial aid has been distinguished with multiple achievements. He is the author of two books (and numerous articles) on financial aid and has given many in-person presentations to groups both large and small. Don served as a trustee of the College Board, chaired the policy committee for an association of the country's most selective colleges, and was recently named to the College Scholarship Service Hall of Fame for outstanding contributions to the aid profession. As an expert on enrollment management (the interplay of admissions and financial aid), Don has been a consultant to more than 30 colleges. He also served on Princeton's admission committee and is familiar with college admissions from policy level discussions to the evaluation of student credentials. For his leadership of the financial aid office, as well as his service to the Princeton University as a whole, Don has received the Alumni Council Award for Service and the Bressler Award for outstanding support of Princeton athletics. He is also an honorary member of the Classes of 1960 and 2005.
Actively involved in Princeton soccer for many years, Don was head coach of the men’s freshman and junior varsity teams, started the women’s program, and for the last 18 years has been an assistant coach of the men’s varsity squad.
Don is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, where he was a regional All-American in soccer. He received a M.A. from Rutgers in 1974. Before arriving at Princeton, he served on active duty as a Naval Aviator, eventually retiring with the rank of Captain.

Karl Schellscheidt and Eric Barnes of ePrep.com
Karl Schellscheidt is the President, the CEO, and a co-founder of ePrep, Inc. Based on 15+ years of teaching and private tutoring experience, he led the development of ePrep's unique video-based platform that uses the internet to deliver expert video instruction to students around the world. Karl graduated from Princeton University in 1990 with a BSE in Civil Engineering and from Seton Hall University in 1993 with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. After graduate school, Karl served as an Environmental Science Instructor for the Office of Continuing Education at Rutgers University. Karl also taught, coached, and served as a dorm parent at The Hun School of Princeton from 1994 to 1997. In 2000, Karl earned a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He worked as a corporate lawyer for Dechert LLP until 2002. Karl is a member in good standing of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He lives in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, with his wife and three children.
Eric Barnes is the COO, the CFO and a co-founder of ePrep, Inc. He is a seasoned internet entrepreneur and management executive. In 2000, Eric founded Ivysport.com, the Ivy League's official retail and brand partner. Prior to Ivysport, he joined the founding team of KORE Partners as CEO and rapidly grew the digital consultancy to market leadership in Southern California before a successful sale of the business. Prior to his work with KORE, Eric held senior management positions at EMI Music and Home Box Office, where he oversaw new business development and strategic planning efforts focused in technology. He began his career in investment banking with Smith Barney. Eric graduated from Princeton University in 1990 with an AB in Economics. He earned an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University in 1997. Eric lives in Southern California with his wife and two children.

Continuing Education
CPAs in 39 states get 16 hours of CPE for attending. CCPS designees receive 16 hours CE credit. States that do not currently accept CPE credit are: Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, Hawaii, Arkansas, Delaware, West Virginia, Illinois.

- Registration will be from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3rd
- General sessions will run from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday
- Networking sessions will run from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday
- Wednesday's general session will run from 8:00 am till Noon
- NO video recording devices will be allowed. Audio recording is accepted with special permission only.
